Infusible Ink projects are unique and offer endless possibilities for projects in your home. From printing and transferring designs onto T-shirts to creating custom mugs and ceramic tiles, you can use Infusible Ink in all kinds of projects! With Cricut and Infusible Ink, you can actually get professional results without much hassle. In this post, we will cover infusible ink basics, supplies, and give you some of our favorites projects to start with.
Infusible Ink Basics
The main point for anyone wanting to start working with infusible ink is to pick the right materials. Infusible ink requires special sublimation blanks, paper, and transfer sheets. With Cricut’s Infusible Ink line, you can get transfer sheets, solid colors, and multi-packs that contain both paper and transfer sheets. You can find all kinds of blanks to use with Infusible Ink, from t-shirts and mugs to tote bags and phone cases.
This Infusible Ink project uses a transfer sheet to transfer a design onto an iron-on T-shirt. You’ll need a compatible Infusible Ink transfer sheet, silicone paper, and an iron-on T-shirt. Start by cutting the transfer sheet on your Cricut machine, then follow the instructions and dry iron the image onto your T-shirt. Finally, peel off the excess material, and you’ll have a beautiful custom T-shirt.
You can also experiment with Non-Cricut Infusible Ink blanks. In this project, you’ll need a non-Cricut plain mug, Infusible Ink paper and transfer sheet. Cut the design on your Cricut machine and adhere it to the mug using the Infusible Ink transfer sheet. Finally, press the mug in a heat press or dry iron for a few minutes. After pressing, you’ll have a custom, personalized mug.
Another great project for the Cricut Joy Infusible Ink is adding a beautiful design to ceramic tiles. You’ll need the Cricut Joy Infusible Ink 2pk and some wood tiles. Cut the design you want on the Infusible Ink transfer sheet, then adhere it to the wood tile. Finally, press it using the Cricut Easy Press or dry iron. Peel off the excess material, and you have a beautiful custom tile!
For a special and unique look, try infusible ink printable designs. With the help of a compatible cutter (like the Cricut Joy), you can cut designs from the Inkjet Printable Sticker Sheets. After cutting, you’ll need to adhere the designs to the Infusible Ink Transfer Sheet and press it with your Easy Press. Peel off the excess material to reveal the design, and you’ll have a unique custom design.
